Naps move to top of group

Naparima college got their third straight victory on Saturday as they defeated St. Benedicts at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium by the slender margin of 1 goal to nil. A second half header from Nigel Wright in the 56th minute gave his team the victory from a beautiful right sided cross from Anthony Parris.

Princes Town pick up three points

Princes Town traveled to Moruga Composite on Saturday and picked up all three points in a 1-0 victory through a Jesse Edwards strike. The victory moves Princes Town up to joint second in the South Zone standings, tied with Presentation College on 7 points.

Fyzabad stunned at home

Fyzabad went down at home to Vessigny on Saturday by 2 goals to nil. Fyzabad played some entertaining football at the start of the season and would surely be disappointed to drop these three valuable points at home. Both of Vessigny’s goals came in the first half with Meshack Lambert opening the scoring in the 15th minute and Marcus Joseph doubling his team’s advantage in the 30th.

Action resumes in the South Zone on Wednesday with Naparima hosting Fyzabad at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium. Presentation also host Princes Town at the Mannie Ramjohn on Wednesday and the third game will be played in Moruga when St. Benedicts make the trip to face Moruga Composite.
