South Zone Roundup Oct 8th - Princes Town relegated

Siparia defeats Princes Town 3-1; PTown relegated

Siparia sent Princes Town crashing out of the Championship Divisione today with an impressive 3-1 victory at home.

Shermon Alexander, Zwade Sanchez and Kevin Flanders were on target for the home team with Corey Ruben scoring a lone item for the visitors. Princes Town finish bottom of the group with 7 points while Siparia move into 5th spot with the victory on 12 points, leapfrogging Pleastantville.

'Pres' keeps pressure on Vessigny; Presentation 1 - 0 Pleasantville

Presentation College kept their hopes for a second place finish alive after edging Pleasantville 1-0 at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium.

Travis Francis was the only player to get on the scoreboard in the tense encounter, as Presentation pull within 3 points of Vessigny.

Despite the defeat, Pleasantville will still be buoyed by the news that Princes Town also lost their match, therefore ensuring that Pleasantville will be playing Championship football next season.

Naparima squeeze past St Benedict's; Naparima 1 - 0 St Benedict's

Naparima defeated their college rivals St Benedict's today by a slim 1-0 victory thanks to a first minute strike from Ryan Fredericks. Naparami have already claimed the South Zone title, but the defeat pushes St Benedict's into 4th spot as they are overtaken by Presentation College.

Naparima host Siparia in their final game of the season while Pleasantville will also face St Benedict's with Benedict's battling for 3rd spot.

Second placed rivals Vessigny and Presentation also square off on Saturday with Presentation having the slight advantage to claim the spot as they have a game in hand as well as a marginally superior goal difference.
