Roxborough escape the drop; Roxborough 3 - 3 Speyside
The two cellar placed teams of Tobago Zone met today at Roxborough Grounds, and Roxborough claimed the point they needed in order to secure their place in next season's Championship with a 3-3 draw against Speyside.
The draw also earns Speyside their first point of the season after a run of 6 successive defeats. Nicholas Small notched a double for the home team before Keshon Samuel equalized for Speyside with a brace of his own. Speyside then took the lead through Jelani Turner but could not hold out for the win and Jeremy Orr scored the tying goal in the dying stages of the game.
Roxborough move to 5 points in the table 4 points clear of Speyside who have 1 more game to play.
Mason Hall go top of table; Signal Hill 0 - 1 Mason Hall
Mason Hall grabbed three important points today on the road to move ahead of Signal Hill in the Tobago Zone standings and claim first spot after defeating them 1-0. Stefano Wright was again on target for the victors.
Signal Hill remain in second spot with 15 points trailing Mason Hall by 1 point but have played one less game.
Rivals Signal Hill and Scarborough square off on Saturday in the first of a double header at the Dwight Yorke Stadium where Signal Hill has it all to play for if they are to claim the 2008 Tobago Zone title. Mason Hall is also in action in their last game of the season against Speyside and will also be looking for nothing short of victory as they look to defend their league title
