Chaguanas Secondary banned from SSFL

 

The SSFL executive has received correspondence regarding Chaguanas Secondary's inability to field a team for the rest of the 2008 season due to internal problems with the players.

As a result, the SSFL has had no choice but to make null and void all of Chaguanas Secondary's matches, as well as hand the school a two year ban from the league.

 'Caps' sinks 'Pres'; Carapichaima 5 - 1 Presentation

Central Zone Champions, Carapichaima, completed a perfect season (8 wins, 0 draws, 0 losses) today after defeating Presentation College by 5-1 at Carapichaima. Scott Benny, Phillip Wickham, Michael Renaud, Keron Gray and Neil Woodruff each chipped in with a goal for the winners, while Jeremy Clarke grabbed a consolation for the visitors.

'Pres' Chaguanas finishes their 2008 league campaign in a disappointing 4th position. They will now turn their attention to the Intercol Competition where they will be hoping to create some upsets.

Waterloo edges Preysal in 7 goal thriller; Waterloo 4 - 3 Preysal

2nd and 3rd placed Waterloo and Preysal respectively, battled in a 7 goal thriller in which Waterloo emerged victorious 4-3.

Malcolm Nedd grabbed a first half hattrick in the encounter and Preysal answered through a double from Akido Joseph and a lone strike from Tevin Babb. Just when the game seemed destined to end in a draw Waterloo got the winning goal through a spectacular 90th minute free kick from Neon Ogarro.

The Central Zone finishes with Carapichaima comfortably in first place.

Waterloo ends their great season in 2nd place with 14 points.

Newcomers Preysal comes in a very respectable third on 7 points, with Presentation College in 4th spot on 5 points.

Marabella finishes with 3 points, and Chaguanas will automatically be relegated.
