South Zone Roundup

Naparima maul Siparia; Naparima 4 - 1 Siparia

Naparima were too much for Siparia to handle today after they defeated their deep south rivals by 4-1 at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium.

It was actually Siparia who opened the scoring through Keston Burns in the 31st minute, but they could not hold on, and a mere eight minutes later Naparima were back on level terms through Christopher Joseph.

Akeems Grant then gave the South Zone Champions the lead in stoppage time of the first half.

'Naps' continued to dictate the pace in the second half, and sealed the issue through goals from Anthony Parris and Ryan Fredericks.

Vessigny and Presentation draw; Vessigny 0 - 0 Presentation

Presentation and Vessigny battled to a goalless draw today at Vessigny Grounds.

Presentation had the better game of the two teams, but failed to convert their chances and must now wait until their game with Siparia has been officially rescheduled if they are to claim 2nd spot.

Please stay tuned to the Fixtures section of Schoolsoccernet.com to see when this game has been rescheduled.

St Benedict's and Pleasantville in entertaining draw; St Benedicts 3 - 3 Pleasantville

Old rivals St Benedict's and Pleasantville treated the spectators to a show today with an enthralling 3-3 draw at the Mannie Ramjohn Stadium. Troy Moses bagged a pair of goals for St Benedict's while on the other end Christopher Wiggins also scored a double for Pleasantville. Jerome Diaz added a third for the new boys courtesy of a well taken penalty.

Naparima have already claimed the South Zone title, with Vessigny currently sitting in 2nd place.

Presentation hold 3rd spot, with St Benedict's in 4th and Siparia in 5th. Pleasantville will finish the season in 6th spot and Princes Town will be relegated next season.

Presentation could claim 2nd with a victory over Siparia, but Siparia can move up to up 4th if they defeat Pres by more than 1 goal.

Please change that mistake in this article. Siparia is on 12 pts while Pres is on 16pts hence the highest Siparia can go is 4th! They do not have to win by any goal margin because if they beat Pres they will be on 15 while Benedict's are on 14! Please error check your stats before posting
